Uranium Custard Glass Art Deco Lamp Shade

This beautiful lamp shade is made of greenish-yellow translucent custard glass with a warm opalescent effect, and its simple yet elegant design is emblematic of the Art Deco era it hails from. But where it really shines is under ultraviolet light, because this is one of the brightest pieces of uranium glass we've had come through the store! Its subtle opalescence and brilliant fluorescence are both hard to capture on camera, but we've done our best here to show you what a truly special piece this one is.

Condition: Great vintage condition. The rim and the fitter are both hand-ground, and the rough surfaces have picked up some grime over the years, as well as a fair number of tiny chips. The main body of the shade, however, has no chips and only one or two subtle scratches.
