Fairfacts NOS Vintage Black Porcelain Bathroom Set

These beautiful matching soap dish & cup holder from The Fairfacts Co.'s Biltin line are simplicity itself, in glossy black that goes with nearly any color scheme. While the patent dates on the soap holder are from the 1910s, the triangle accents on the grab bar and cup holder were first added in the late 1920s or early 1930s, which is also when the overall designs took a more geometric turn as part of the Art Deco era. The soap dish does need to be installed pretty deep into the wall, as the bar on the top is intended to be a grab bar, originally advertised as a safety feature - though it would also make a great hanging place for a washcloth!

Condition: New old stock, never installed! There is some storage wear and chipping around the edges of the back of each piece, and the sort of "legs" that stick out of the back of the soap dish are somewhat chipped as well, but otherwise these are in fantastic condition. The soap holder is stamped on the back, reading "F-152 BILTIN / THE FAIRFACTS CO.INC. / NEW YORK / PATENTED OCT 23 1917 / PATENTED MAY 28 1918 / MADE IN U.S.A." and the cup holder is stamped on the top and bottom, reading "THE FAIRFACTS CO. INC. NEW YORK" and "MADE IN U.S.A. PAT. APPLD. FOR" respectively, as well as "F-503" on the underside. Both are also stamped with the double triangle logo of The Fairfacts Co. Sold as a set of two pieces.
