1860s Bronze Victorian Hinges

$200.00

| /

These absolutely beautiful hinges are over 150 years old, and are in truly stunning shape for their age! The Victorians really knew what they were doing when it came to making everyday objects beautiful, and these are no exception, with ornate details decorating even the inner faces of each leaf. The abstracted floral designs take strong inspiration from the popular Eastlake movement of the time, which has remained popular for well over a century now. So do like the Victorians do, and bring some extra beauty into your home today!

Condition: Great antique condition. Significant patina, commensurate with age, as well as some small patches of verdigris, but no significant structural damage to the metal. Both hinges move well, though one is a little stiffer than the other, and all four finials are still present. Each hinge leaf is stamped "PATENT. NOV 2.1869" as well as "5 x 5" on the back. Sold as a set of two complete hinge pairs.
