Egg Oval Glass Door Knob

Amazing and unusual egg shaped glass doorknob with mercury star design and cast bronze base This knob was made circa 1910, at the very beginning of the twist-on knob style. Likely it would have graced a door in a very fancy house on the cutting edge of current trends. 

Condition: Great antique condition. The base has a lovely antique patina with some paint residue and minor discoloration (pictured), and there are a few very small dings in the glass surface. Set screw has been newly replaced. Fits a 20 TPI spindle, though threads are slightly worn.
