This amazing 5 arm wall sconce was surely used to the light the entry of a castle or grande ballroom. When electricity was first on the scene, it was very unreliable so hybrid fixtures were invented with some fixtures for gas (pointing up with an open flame) and some for electricity (pointing down). This fixture offers a stunning way to throw a lot of light from a single sconce with great late Victorian style.
