How to Sell or Trade Your Old Treasures to Hippo Hardware
We love to buy and trade-- it is the foundation on which Hippo Hardware was built.
We are always in the market for quality merchandise. Please keep any and all of the original parts that are available. Listed below is a small sampling of items that are of interest to us.
Architecture: We are interested in panneled doors & unusual windows, molding & trim, wood flooring, new posts and columns, decorative wood peices, and wainscoting.
Hardware: We can use almost anything from the 1800s through the 1940s. We need door knobs & back plates, door bells, cabinet knobs, window lifts & pulls, door & window locks (save the catch!).
Lighting: We are looking for all types and styles of light fixtures, starting with the oil lamp period of the early 1800s, and ending with the fixtures of the 1960s. We are looking for sconces, table & floor lamps, chandeliers, crystals, ceiling or outdoor fixtures, and miscellaneous parts.
Plumbing: We are looking for clawfoot bathtubs, pedestal sinks, towel bars, tumbler holders, bathroom sinks and valves. We need valves for kitchen and bathroom faucets that are manufactured by Kholer, Chicago, American Standard, Repcal, and American Kitchens. We can also use most other valve brands if they are in good shape.
Most items must be brought in and examined in person to have a value determined. If you have a particularly large amount or large object that you would like someone to look at, feel free to call us and we may send someone out to you (local Portland area only).
